Grand Villa, Wimbledon
This Grade II-listed Regency villa in southwest London, built in 1850, was comprehensively updated while preserving its period character. The grand drawing room was remodelled around the original fireplace, enhanced with antique mirrored panels to reflect light from bay windows and furnished with George Smith sofas in natural linen, a Christian Liaigre table, and layered accents in velvet, linen, and bronze. The adjoining family room takes its palette from striking Indian artwork, anchored by a Martyn Lawrence Bullard rug, de la Cuona linen sofas, and a William Yeoward armchair. A calm white and neutral scheme flows throughout the house, with bold patterned textiles adding vibrancy. The serene master suite, overlooking the gardens, was refined with new wall panelling, a dado rail, crewelwork curtains, and a chaise longue in Aldeco fabric, creating a sophisticated yet welcoming retreat.
